Ken Neumann Wins Silver at JJBC Tournament
Abbotsford, BC -- Apr 10, 2006 --

West Coast Jiu-Jitsu's assistant instructor Ken Neumann hadn't planned on competing at the Annual tournament of the Jiu-Jitsu BC Society yesterday. And yet the reluctant competitor took second place.

"It was my former instructor's idea," explains Neumann. "Sensei Aird just kept on me about it until I decided to go along with it."

The brown belt was required to perform five random techniques, one for each of the five categories in the self-defense competition. It was the first time the JJBC had held this type of competition.

"It was a happy surprise," says Lori O'Connell, West Coast Jiu-Jitsu's head instructor. "Even though he hadn't been preparing for the tournament he performed very well. We're all proud of his achievement."
