Private Lessons

Our instructors offer private lessons for adults and kids who would like to train in a controlled and focused environment. Whether our practitioners are seeking a challenging workout, learning self-defense skills, or preparing for BJJ tournaments, our method of teaching centers around consistent, disciplined work on the mat. If you are interested in taking private lessons, consider the following benefits as you make your decision.

Undivided attention:

During a private lesson, the instructor can highlight and analyze the practitioner’s strengths and weaknesses. This will enable the student to improve more quickly than they would in a large group setting. The coach will drill techniques that will work specifically for the student who will then apply them to their game immediately. Private lessons allow for the student to ask specific questions, which is difficult in a traditional class setting. This will help the new practitioner to feel less overwhelmed so they can focus on fundamentals. Most importantly, private lessons give the student a chance to roll with their instructor.

Advanced training:

An unparalleled benefit of private training is for advanced BJJ practitioners who are seeking a higher level of technique than they might receive in a traditional class. In typical group classes, the instructor will ensure the average student is grasping key concepts. For advanced practitioners, these classes may not be challenging enough. Private lessons are a valuable way for advanced practitioners to transition into the next level. The instructor will tailor and adjust the pace of the lessons so the advanced practitioner may achieve specific goals.

Less intimidating:

Because BJJ is a contact sport, often students are apprehensive that rolling with other practitioners could result in injury. Private lessons are a great way to mitigate this risk. The instructors at our academy will ensure that students are comfortable with techniques being taught and practiced. Practitioners will be able to communicate concerns to the instructor and the lesson will be adjusted accordingly. By practicing in a less-stressful environment, students are likely to improve more quickly than in a traditional class setting where they may be reluctant to drill with inexperienced or aggressive practitioners.
